After a huge resurgence of loungewear and comfy clothes over the past few years, designers are embracing glamour wholeheartedly. Glitzy disco-inspired looks, luxe fabrics, bold metallics, daytime opera gloves, and bold eyewear have officially entered the chat.
From glimmering metallics to retro-inspired frames, there were a few dominating trends on this season’s runways. For bold and statement-making, metallic lenses and vivid red frames offer the perfect pop of drama to your outfit this fall and winter. Tomato red
Trending colors are common standout fads seen across the runways and this fashion month was no different. The list of brands (or stylish showgoers) that didn’t have at least one nod to the bright-red trend was few and far between. From tonal bright red looks to pointed red accessories in the form of handbags, hair accessories, shoes, and eyewear, tomato red has blossomed into the color of the season.

It’s no surprise that metallics are back in a big way and they have never looked so luxurious. While jewelry on the runway has taken a turn toward silver, clothing has taken on metallic gold across the board. At Ralph Lauren, models wore gold-dipped dresses and separates with ease of movement, while Prabal Gurung incorporated textures to make metallics sparkle alive. Take note of Givenchy and opt for a high-shine reflective lens to embrace this glossy trend.
1950s throwback
Feminine dressing has never been more popular from drop waists to romantic corsets. There was never a more distinctly feminine decade than 1950s style. The runways have seen an uptick in post-war fashion nods from Bottega Veneta and Balmain to Dior and its signature New Look .Coach’s Spring ‘24 show took the feminine style to a whole new level with a heart-shaped cat eye. Celebrate fifties style revamped for 2023 and beyond with a pair of these ultra-femme frames.
Sherbert pastels
Winter doesn’t have to equate with a neutral and gloomy color palette. Designers like Paco Rabanne, Givenchy, and Loewe brightened up the runway with cool pastels and cheery tones.
Try on the trend with pastel-infused frames or go bold with a translucent frame and tinted lenses. The runway saw an influx of sky blue, incorporating it into delicate and feminine silhouettes for a tranquil and timeless look. If blue isn’t for you, try out candy pink, a softer and sweeter shade of the all-too-well-known Barbie pink. The color feels youthful and on-trend while offering a much-needed update from the Barbiecore aesthetic.
